How to share multiple windows at once on Zoom & Teams (Mac)
Zoom can do it with a keyboard trick. Teams can’t. Here’s how each works, and how to share several windows in any app and switch between them live.
Short answer: In Zoom, click Share Screen, then hold Shift and click each window you want, so you can share a couple at once. Microsoft Teams and Google Meet don’t offer this at all, they only share one window or your whole screen. To share several windows in any of them, and to add, remove, or switch between windows live, use a dedicated tool like PrivacyStage.
Share multiple windows in Zoom on Mac
Zoom does let you share more than one window, though it takes a keyboard modifier that isn’t obvious:
- Click Share Screen. The green button in your Zoom meeting toolbar.
- Hold Shift and click each window. On the Basic tab, hold the Shift key (on Mac) and click each application window you want to include. You can select more than one.
- Click Share. Every shared window gets a green border, and participants see them arranged the way they are on your screen.
- Stop Share when done. To change which windows you’re sharing, you have to stop and start the share again with a new selection.
Your selection is locked in when you start. To add or drop a window mid-call you must stop and re-share, and on a large monitor the windows can still come through small. There’s no live switching.
Microsoft Teams can’t share multiple windows
Teams only gives you two choices: share a single window, or share your entire screen. There’s no way to select several specific windows. Google Meet works the same way: one window or the whole screen, nothing in between.
Share multiple windows in any app, and switch live
